Citizen Science Stakeholder Event

Citizen Science Stakeholder Event

by Hannah Parry-Wilson, Citizen Science Co-ordinator

On Monday 30th September 2024, our River Chess Citizen Science Team hosted a Chess Citizen Science Event to share our logistical challenges and successes in setting up and continuing an extensive collaborative catchment-focussed citizen science programme.

We had a very jam-packed agenda and were delighted to include talks from our staff team, citizen scientists and Kelly Haynes of the Environment Agency.

Following this, we introduced our attendees to our various methods during a site visit down at Chesham Moor where they were able to observe and ask questions about Riverfly, SmartRivers, flow monitoring, Modular River Survey, MudSpotter and NOSES (phosphate and nitrate surveying).
