Flow monitoring
Flow monitoring has been carried out by citizen scientists of the River Chess Association since 2016 in Chesham.
In 2023, the Smarter Water Catchment initiative co-funded two brand new flow monitoring devices alongside the Environment Agency (EA), which have now been handed over to the River Chess Association (RCA).
Training on how to use the equipment was carried out by the EA in June 2023, when the RCA will now also be taking over some EA monitoring sites that have been dropped due to budget cuts.
The River Chess Assoication is therefore looking for assistance with monthly monitoring for almost 20 sites throughout the River Chess, to which training will continue to take place for new monitors through 2023.
