If you want to get involved in surveying ponds in the Chess Valley, this is your opportunity! If you are not sure about committing and what the survey entails please join us for the training evening on the 2nd of July and then decide if you want to take part or not.
The training is led by the Freshwater Habitats Trust (FHT) with the help of the Chilterns Chalk Stream Project.

Programme
- Training will start at 6:30pm, Tuesday 2nd July.
- Parking should be available at the village hall or on the green
- Training will last approximately an hour
- This will include running through a presentation for approx. 30 minutes
- We will run through the PASS survey method which is a series of questions which provides some key indicators as to the quality of different ponds.
- Followed by a visit to the pond on the green to test what we’ve learnt.
- We will also do some water quality testing so will need to get down to the pond edge.
- Wear some appropriate outdoor wear and waterproofs in case of rain.
- Discuss next steps and logistics for surveys/ allocate ponds.
